We offer a variety of programs focused on protecting child health and safety, including education on sports, firearms and safety hazards; free car seat checks and home safety classes; and training for fire/EMS, hospital staff, daycares and other community partners.

Stay healthy during flu season with a free flu shot! Carilion Clinic Community Health and Outreach provides free flu vaccines to adults 18 years and older, while supplies last.
Access to affordable, quality health care is crucial for maintaining health and preventing and managing chronic conditions. We have several programs and initiatives to address these needs.

We provide health screenings to detect potential health issues before they start. We provide screenings for:
- Blood pressure, diabetes, BMI and cholesterol
- Breast cancer (mammography)
- Prostate problems
- Skin cancer

A peer recovery support line is now available every day from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. to ensure that employees, patients and community members have access to the mental health and substance abuse support they need during this time. Our free community recovery groups are led by peer recovery specialists for mental health and addiction recovery. You must be at least 18 years of age to participate. Due to COVID-19, all groups are virtual for the time being. Registration is not required—just log in!
