Our Expertise

Pediatric & Adolescent Gynecology combines the expertise of gynecologists, pediatricians and other specialists to offer a full range of clinical and support services for your child. Gynecologic issues facing adolescents and girls are very different from those affecting adult women.

Doctor and female patient

First Gynecological Appointment

We advise that girls have their first gynecology appointment between the ages of 13 and 15. These appointments are preventative in nature and generally do not require an exam.

Group of young girls

Abnormal and Irregular Bleeding

This is the most common reason we see adolescents in the office. From no menses to irregular or lack of menses, we approach patients with evidence-based evaluations and age-focused treatments.

Reproductive Health

We provide a comprehensive approach to all reproductive needs of adolescents including contraception, STI testing, counseling on safety and HPV vaccination.

Dysmenorrhea

Dysmenorrhea is the medical term for painful menstrual periods caused by cramps. Primary dysmenorrhea occurs soon after a girl gets her first period and may be lifelong but can get better with time. Secondary dysmenorrhea starts later and can be caused by a diverse group of medical conditions.

Patients with Special Needs

Not every patient can be managed the same, patients with special needs such as Autism or developmental delay need personalized management of their reproductive health. We offer a variety of options to help families and their children as they mature.
